Rocket at 25: rock shows past, present and future

Rocket CEO Andy Youniss is an accomplished guitar player and pianist, and Rocket is a company full of musicians. Rocket HQ is full of music memorabilia, and guitars, basses and amps have even been known to show up at company off-site events for after-hours use. This love of music carries over to event sponsorships as well. If you’ve attended an IBM conference in the past few years where the Rocket team was in attendance, there’s a good chance we sponsored the week’s musical guests. Andy has even been known to get up on stage with his own guitar before the main performance, serving as a one-man warm-up act.

Here’s a shot from the Executive Briefing Center in our Waltham, MA office, with six-foot-tall standees from events that took place in 2012 and 2013 on either side of signed posters from Elvis Costello and Fall Out Boy.

Most recently, we were excited to sponsor No Doubt’s appearance at IBM Insight in October, 2014. IBM’s new InterConnect event is coming up later this month, and we’re really excited to continue this tradition by sponsoring a performance by local rock & roll legends Aerosmith. If you plan to attend, be sure to stop by and say hi to the Rocket crew. You can even visit our booth in the expo hall and register to win a custom Rocketcaster guitar, built by our own in-house luthier Steve Bice.

See you there!
