Rocket Mainframe Data Service in IBM Bluemix

Today was an exciting day. I started my morning in Boston. Thanks to JetBlue and favorable headwinds, I arrived in Las Vegas in time to take the stage at IBM Edge 2015 alongside IBM z Systems General Manager Ross Mauri to announce our new data access service in the IBM Bluemix platform. We’re calling it Rocket Mainframe Data Service, and it’s powered by our Rocket Data Virtualization technology.

Our partnership with IBM has always been about innovation. And that’s what today’s announcement is all about. Rocket Mainframe Data Service gives Bluemix developers simple, seamless, and secure access to all of their mainframe data as they build new cloud and mobile apps.

With our new Bluemix service, developers will find accessing mainframe data as easy as accessing any database, object, document, or spreadsheet – which helps accelerate their cloud and mobile app development.

Rocket Mainframe Data Service in Bluemix is the latest example of Rocket providing software that matters to IBM z Systems customers.
