The second annual Boston Tech Jam took place last week at Boston City Hall Plaza. This event, the brainchild of a group of Boston area tech luminaries, was designed to be an opportunity for different tech companies in the Boston area to get together and interact in an informal setting. Companies set up booths with lots of games and giveaways, startups get to pitch their business models to local CEOs, and local bands that include employees of the companies in attendance get to entertain the crowd. And none of this would be complete without food (and beer) trucks fueling the fun.
Rocket joined the event this year as an underwriting sponsor, and CEO Andy Youniss even got to take part in the group of CEOs judging the startup pitches. Attendees came by the Rocket booth and played Skee Ball for a chance to win a custom Rocketcaster, as well as learn more about the company and take home some Rocket swag. At at the end of the night, Andy and a group of five other Rocketeers took the event stage to close out the evening with nearly an hour of music.
Nearly 70 Rocketeers attended in total, and everyone who came had a great time talking to the crowd and taking in the atmosphere. We made some new friends, and got to tell the Rocket story to a lot of new people. Thanks to everyone who came out–we’ll see you next year!
