Rocket Servergraph 7.7 enhances multi-vendor backup and data protection management
One of the most challenging aspects for any IT department is how to better manage their backup and data protection environment as it is constantly shifting and changing. There is no easing of the requirements to ensure business continuity even as data and applications are moved to the cloud or a virtual machine (VM) strategy is expanded or implemented for the first time for a new part of the business.
Rocket Servergraph has made it its singular mission to ensure that IT managers and backup administrators have the visibility they need into their backup processes and the necessary timely, accurate, and detailed reporting to make decisions to keep the operations recoverable and operating smoothly. Rocket Servergraph 7.7 continues this tradition of expanding coverage while simplifying the task of managing the data protection environment.
Specifically, Servergraph 7.7 has enhanced its IBM TS3500 data collection by retrieving even more information from the TS3500 CLI. Multivendor backup device support is expanded by adding the Quantum VTL (DXi) and IBM LTFS Enterprise Edition. The server side is also enhanced by treating BMC Control-M and CA Autosys as a complete new server types with their own reports area including numerous built-in reports.
Detailed standard and custom reporting remains the cornerstone of Servergraph’s value-add to the IT department. Servergraph 7.7 extends its industry leading capability by providing broader use of the web based simple administration console. This enhancement provides the capability to allow more users to be setup to access the reports and to have e-mail subscription automatically limiting data and report access to the appropriate permissions level. This includes a Self Service Admin Console that has been added for the Cloud environment.
User reports have been enhanced across all supported platforms along with a new report that was added to show the evolution of VM definitions and utilization over time. The toolbar now also has a new “Node Search” button which allows the user to very quickly search for a given node, and then drill down into the related Node Dashboard.
