A Glimpse Inside Db2 for z/OS

A Glimpse Inside Db2 for z/OS is a collection of mid-level technical papers. The initial motivation for producing these papers was to accelerate the training of some entry-level, and more specifically junior-level, Db2 for z/OS Systems Programmers, Systems Administrators, and Database Administrators. Each paper is written on a specific topic of Db2 for z/OS, which I felt would be of interest and value to the target audience. Each paper assumes that the reader has some basic knowledge of the specific Db2 for z/OS topic, and is written at a moderate level of technical challenge.

There is no specific order in which the papers where intended to be read. While the papers do occasionally refer to other papers in the collection as a reference, each paper is intended as a stand-alone offering. The papers represent a personal interpretation of IBM Db2 documentation on each topic, and they often refer the reader to IBM Db2 documentation for additional detail.

In the event of discrepancies or misunderstandings in the technical interpretations, there is a disclaimer which states that IBM Db2 documentation should always be considered the definitive and authoritative explanation on each topic. Each paper essentially represents a collection of thoughts and explanations pertaining to the specific Db2 for z/OS topic covered. They occasionally provide a how-to explanation for a given topic or process, when I felt such an explanation was warranted.
