COUNTDOWN TO IBM THINK WITH IBM CHAMPION DOUG ANDERSON

This year, a record-breaking number of Rocket employees were named as 2020 IBM Champions—13 to be exact. To celebrate our ongoing partnership with IBM, and our dedication to innovation, legacy technologies and legendary results, we want to highlight them.

Over the next weeks, we will count down to IBM THINK with each of the 2020 Champions, and celebrate what we love about our partnership with IBM!

Name: Doug Anderson
Title: Senior Solutions Advisor
Length of time at Rocket Software: 17 years

What it means to be an IBM Champion: It’s an honor to be recognized as an IBM Champion because it means our contributions to the community are being valued at a high level. Our enthusiasm is seen, heard and shared, and hopefully energizes the community.

What I love about IBM: That they never stop innovating.

What I love about the IBM/Rocket Software partnership: That we strive to work together as teammates moving in the same direction and towards similar goals, instead of two separate organizations with different interests.

How do IBM products improve everyday lives? They make it easier to complete daily tasks, not only for employees that work with those products but also for their customers that consume the data. Mainframe data access is far more prevalent than most people know. When you are accessing banking info, making flight reservations, purchasing retail you are more likely than not accessing mainframe data with an IBM product.

Favorite IBM product: QMF

Favorite IBM project: I have been very fortunate to participate in many IBM projects and I could categorize several of them that would qualify as a favorite for different reasons.

Favorite quote: “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!” – Henry Ford
