COUNTDOWN TO IBM THINK WITH IBM CHAMPION JULIE BERGH

This year, a record-breaking number of Rocket employees were named as 2020 IBM Champions—13 to be exact. To celebrate our ongoing partnership with IBM, and our dedication to innovation, legacy technologies and legendary results, we want to highlight them.

Over the next weeks, we will count down to IBM THINK with each of the 2020 Champions, and celebrate what we love about our partnership with IBM!

Name: Julie Bergh
Title:  WW Security Advisor
Length of time at Rocket Software:  1 year

What it means to be an IBM Champion: Having been a WW Lead z Security Champion at IBM, it is great to continue in this tradition as a IBM Z Champion continuing to work with WW customers to address their mainframe needs.

What I love about IBM: That I was able to say I worked for IBM. It was always my goal to be able to work there.

What I love about the IBM/Rocket Software partnership: When I talk to customer and tell them that I now work for Rocket Software, they really see this as just an extension of IBM and a cohesive team helping them to meet their goals.

How do IBM products improve everyday lives? The one area that comes to mind: finance. Getting cash from ATM, checking accounts, online banking, mortgages, there is a good chance IBM was there to make these transactions possible with their hardware and software capabilities. They provided the capabilities to make this secure.

Favorite IBM product: RACF

Favorite IBM project: Helping customers succeed in obtaining their security goals on the mainframe.

Favorite quote: From 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”
