21 in 21: Announcing our 2021 IBM Champions

Twenty-one Rocketeers Chosen as IBM Champions
Delivering World-Class Industry Expertise to Customers

By Milan Shetti and Chris Wey

Here at Rocket, we’re thrilled to announce that once again we’ve broken our own record for the number of Rocketeers who have been nominated and chosen as IBM Champions. This year, we’re celebrating twenty-one 2021 IBM Champions from Rocket. That’s right—twenty-one Champions for 2021!

Each year, IBM Champions are nominated by their peers for consistent and exceptional contributions to the IBM community. Selected from a pool of over 2,000 candidates, the IBM Champions are non-IBM employees chosen for their expertise across 10 categories, including IBM Z, Data and AI, IBM Power Systems, and IBM Cloud. These individuals evangelize IBM solutions, share their knowledge, and contribute to the growth of professionals focused on IBM offerings. In acknowledegment of their many talents, Champions are invited to engage in high-impact projects with IBM, are recognized at various events, and are offered speaking opportunities that help to raise their visibility and broaden their sphere of influence.

“I continue to be amazed by the dedication of our Rocketeers and their ability to continuously live through our values of empathy, humanity, trust, and love. Even through the extraordinarily difficult circumstances presented by 2020, Rocketeers continue to strive to bring the best results to our customers—and it shows. Our IBM Champions have demonstrated their expertise, support, and advocacy for IBM technology, communities, and solutions. Their work in the IBM sphere goes above and beyond, sharing knowledge, evangelizing solutions, and extending the reach of IBM through innovation.” said Milan Shetti, President, IBM Z business unit.

Chris Wey, President of Rocket’s Power business unit shared, “These elite IBM Champions drive customer value, product roadmaps and tremendous innovation across Rocket. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to work with so many talented people, driving the future of the extraordinary IBM Z and Power platforms.”
