Rocket APT Challenge competition is live

This 2nd annual global coding competition, aimed at introducing MultiValue to university students across the globe, is officially underway. By introducing students to new application development techniques in preparation for careers in coding or as an entrepreneur, the Challenge aims to address the technology industry’s growing skills gap.

Rocket Software with our partner APT Solutions, held a coding competition last year in the UK only. This year we’ve expanded it to a worldwide competition.

Students entering the competition must develop an application around the theme “Improve Your Community.” Rocket provides the MultiValue database and tools – which the students must use to build an application. Rocket and APT are also supplying loads of resources so students can hit the ground running.

Not only will students learn about the power of MultiValue, but each student who builds an application also has a chance to win a regional $5,000 (US) cash prize. In addition, each regional winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Rocket.Build near Boston, Massachusetts, USA! During the June 2019 trip, winning students have a chance to again compete and win a share of the $24,000 (US) grand prize.

The competition is off to a great start with almost 100 students from eight countries registered to compete. Check back in June 2019 to learn about the regional winners and their applications.

Hi, I'm the Marketing Manager for Rocket MultiValue. I returned to MultiValue in 2014. You see, I started my career right out of grad school with Unidata in downtown Denver. Back then I worked with our hardware partners including DEC, Data General, Sequent, HP and many others! Later I moved to MarComm and Product Marketing. I love being back in MV and in my free time enjoy spending time with my family skiing, hiking and enjoying Colorado.
